Smartweld Center is proud to support Alstom Netherlands & Belgium, a global leader in sustainable transportation, in the installation of their Energy Measurement and Management System for Thalys. This continuous measurement of traction power consumption provides a comprehensive data basis for the control of energy efficiency.

The evaluation of this data enables the identification of potential measures and the corresponding proof of efficacy after implementation.

This innovative system is designed for energy efficient and economic driving and reducing energy consumption of railway vehicles, lowering their carbon footprint, and save money on energy costs.

Alstom’s Energy Measurement and Management System is a comprehensive solution that incorporates cutting-edge technology and advanced analytics to provide businesses with real-time data on their energy usage. This data can be used to identify areas of inefficiency and waste, and to develop strategies for reducing energy consumption and improving overall efficiency.

A team of qualified welders from Smartweld Center supports Sea-Invest – GCT with urgent repairs of hardfacing welding of crusher rolls. These repairs are necessary to ensure the continuity of the trade in bulk products.

The repairs are carried out in accordance with hardfacing welding processes and associated heat treatment.

100% visual and magnetic inspection.

The repairs fit into a further training and inspection protocol for maintenance staff of Smartweld Center.

In collaboration with Odisee, Smartweld Center created a model and implementation plans for a flow measurement setup.

Subsequently, Smartweld Center built and installed a test setup for the training ‘measurement and control techniques’ of Odisee Campus Aalst.

The setup consists of a tank with pump, flow meters and control valves to generate a mini-process.

A team of qualified welders from Smartweld Center supports C-Metal with the adjustment of the Straatburg bridge for the “Construction site of the century”. The modifications are a starting point for the construction of the tunnel under the Albert Channel.

The welding is carried out in accordance with EN1090-2 and SB260.

100% visual and magnetic inspection.

Before the start of the project, the welders were trained and tested in Smartweld’s training and certification centre.
